Thanks to the new engine generations featuring the Volvo SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology, we greatly reduce fuel consumption and already offer a wide range of buses and coaches that comply with both the Euro V and EEV (Environmental Enhanced Vehicle) emission standards.

Operators’ drive for lower fuel consumption goes hand in hand with reduced environmental impact. While many competitors have increased fuel consumption to meet tougher emission standards by using the EGR solution to meet the emissions levels, VBC has done the opposite – creating an SCR engine range with fuel consumption at world class levels. Fuel reductions up to 17 % compared to previous engine generations.

In order to meet the low levels of nitrogen oxides required by Euro IV, Euro V, EEV and Euro VI, Volvo offers the efficient and thoroughly tested SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology. In a process where AdBlue – a mixture of urea and water – is sprayed into the exhaust gases, the nitrogen oxides are transformed into harmless nitrogen gas and water.

VBC already offers Euro V
The next stage of emission limits in Europe – Euro V – will be introduced in Europe in the autumn of 2009, creating a further 40% reduction of nitrous oxides. Thanks to Volvo SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology, VBC already offers a full range of buses and coaches that meet these requirements.

VBC already meets EEV emission standards
EEV (Environmental Enhanced Vehicle) is a voluntary emission standard within the EU, even lower than Euro V incentive. Thanks to Volvo SCR technology, VBC offers a wide range of vehicles that comply with EEV standards.
